What is The Steve Approach?

It’s a No Bullshit Approach in the Fight Against Disease and Disability

Hey everyone, it’s Steve here. I wanted to take a moment to share a bit more about my personal philosophy, which I’ve dubbed “The Steve Approach,” and the new blog and website I’ve started to spread the word.

Let me tell you, I’ve been through some pretty rough times in my life. I’m talking about dealing with a lifelong disability, being sexually abused as a kid, struggling with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder, and even attempting suicide. It’s been a tough journey, but I’ve also had some incredible moments, like being a father to my three amazing daughters. They’ve been my reason to keep going, even in the darkest times. I’ve lived in the USA and the UK, both very different cultures.

I’ve also had the privilege of working in academia and social welfare, where I’ve helped folks from all walks of life face their challenges. This experience has given me a lot of perspective on my own struggles.

Recently, I’ve been hit with even more obstacles, like heart problems, prostate cancer, and a rare type of stroke called Wallenberg Syndrome. But you know what? I refuse to let these things define me or hold me back. And that’s where The Steve Approach comes in.

The Steve Approach is about controlling your mind and not letting your challenges control you. I firmly believe that no matter what life throws your way, you can always do something to improve your situation, even if it’s just a small step in the right direction.

My blog is where I share my personal story and the lessons I’ve learned. I want to show people that change is possible but requires action. Just talking about it isn’t enough. You have to make a choice and start moving forward, even if it’s at a slow pace.

Why did I call it The Steve Approach? I'm putting it out there because it’s my personal philosophy, hoping that others can learn from my experiences. I’ve been through hell and back, and now I want to help others navigate their challenges. It’s a no-nonsense approach and a firm belief that everyone can do something to change their circumstance.

At their core, the blog and The Steve Approach website inspire resilience, determination, and the power of the human spirit. No matter what you’re facing, I want you to know that you can keep moving forward. If my story and approach can help even one person do that, I’ll consider it a success.
